Abstract
Stewards of legal information sites are facing enormous funder and partner pressure to "do AI" — but validating the quality of AI implementations remains a critical challenge, especially for client-facing applications. In the spring of 2026, the Duke AI Audits practicum worked with Scale Justice to help articulate the true foundational costs of scoping and building a generative AI application on a statewide LawHelp site.
